A Rare Love Once Shared

It's been twenty years today
Since we shared our love,
We met on Valentine's Day
An Angel sent from above.

Our love was rare
"One in a million," they say,
You went to the Heaven's above
Twenty years ago today.

I still wear my ring, you know
The one you gave to me,
Your light shines glows
Sending love to me.

I remember the times
We would sit at the park,
Walk along the beach
Until it got dark.

Do you remember the picnics
That we once had?
Chasing eachother through the flowers
After you left, I've been very sad.

I never did take this ring off
Every day, you're still in my heart,
A rare love once shared
I'd wished we never did part.

I wanted to write something sad for Valentine's Day. Not everything can be happy. Just something I put together.
