One Life's Pilgrimage

GRIEF AND HOPE by Sonja

Oh, my friend Death shall surely
startle me on my Demise Day.

Will I be fearful and tearful
or hopeful and joyful
or emptied from desire altogether?

Oh, Eternity, I pray with all my heart
that my eyes will cease to see this world
when You decide it is time for me to depart.

For I can hardly bear the thought of the scheduled,
unspeakable pain of viewing my  waxy,
cold corpse through the tearful,
earthly eyes of my sweet,
tender, mourning child.

Oh, Fate I pray with all my Hope
that it will be me that you leave behind.
So deeply embedded is my Love
for my sweet family and friends.
I do not want to cause them pain when I end.
Please let me live to be 110.

Oh Steadfastness, if it be Fate's will
that my demise must come first,
please surround and protect my loved ones with your Girth.
Truth and Wisdom, please pitch in.
Please never tire of inspiring them
to avoid the worldly pitfalls of Sin.
Dear Grace, if one should stumble or fall,
please step in to carry and
teach them the right way home.

My Shepherd, My Lord when I am gone
to Thy Kingdom beyond
please regularly invite my loved ones
to Your sumptuous Atoning Feast.
Help them to remain clean
from the filth of this World.
Beckon them frequently to attend the Temple
to partake of the Truth promised in the end.

Invite them to taste Your Blissful Eternity
where together forever we may always be.

This is the foundation of my Hope.
Nothing else satisfies my Soul.
Being together forever eternally,
my life's Soul goal.
