There was a time when all seemed lost
The winds of winter were so brutal and cold
Restless nights covered emotions with a blanket of snow
Time was standing still, while I was growing old.
Valentines passed without as much as a sound
Spring was on the way, my life had a genuine need
Suddenly, a familiar stranger knocked on my door
Somehow a phone call, had just planted a seed.
New roots had sprouted into the thawing ground
Cultivated with care and time, nourished with tears of rain
Unaware, yet withstanding the seasonal change
The fruits of this plant would bare pleasures for all to gain.
The maturing cycles of life have proven they can endure
With a mutual respect and awareness of each and every stem
When the walls come down, a garden finally has room to grow
And a door left open, allows the warmth of the sun to shine in.
Allowing Fate to take it's course and Nature it's sweet time
I have learned by example what Conviction and Faith can be
This has been one of the accepted mysteries of my life
That I believe God has blessed and bestowed upon me.
