Goodbye

You told me I could write about
well, almost anything

The death of a loved one
a wedding and the ring

Divorce or a baby born
I think I've wrote it all

But when I think of you
my heart begins to fall

Then I go crazy
my minds an empty space

All that should be there
is gone without a trace

This poet couldn't capture
all that used to be

Words won't come to mind
there's no love left for me

I can't write what isn't there
no matter how I try

Only one word comes to mind
so I'll just say goodbye
