The petal of a roseThere's tears in her eyes, As if the rain had fallen, The heart seems to still hear, The soulful sound of love calling, Like a rose covered with dew, As dawn brings a day that's new, Leaving behind the night of storms, Waking up in a new lover's arms, The roses petals soft as silk, Cover her lover in a warm satin quilt, Past the thorns there's the rose's charms, Waking up in a new lover's arms, The rose was discarded in the dark, Than picked up and held to the heart, The petals of the rose is soft as silk, As she covers her lover in her satin quilt. Mountains are where kingdoms are built, The rose that was left to fade and wilt, Now covers her lover with a satin quilt. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
