 Living, loving, and learning

My Children

My children, my child
they keep me alive

They smile and smile
no stories, no lies

They play and they fall
calls my name as they cry

The look in their eyes
makes me feel alive

Deserving the moon
so I'll never deprive

Not worried of tomorrow
the bounce in their stride

I wouldn't be living
if not for their love

I know God has sent them
to me from above

Just when I had thought
I had nowhere to turn

They brought me a future
with much love to burn

So blessed am I
now they are here

Giving me courage
so I hold them dear

Sleeping so soundly
their future so bright

Everyday we're learning
as love takes its flight

No gift more gracious
All sadness, all frowns

For their love, to be back
in my arms once again

God gave them to me
only to keep such a short time

Now their gone
oh, how I weep
