Poetry For Everyday People

Constant Con

It's never
what they say,
it's always
what they don't,

facial expressions,
eyes, hands, feet,

can't look'em
in the eyes,

hands fumbling,
feet shuffling,

you have too
be in tune,
read the movements,

between the lines
lies the truth,
the map,

the high rise office,
the furniture,
the car,
the rap,

titles are useless,
the pitch is a lure,

don't get lost
in fireworks

although beautifully
romantic.
