A time when your inner strength is being tested
The time when your very best is requested
When all your shame is stripped away
And there's no more excuses to say
You are taught to pick up the pieces
As your confidence in yourself increases
On other's patience you have to depend
Your right to independence you need to defend
You enter a different phase of recuperation
To undergo physical therapy brings fustration
Slowly creeping back from death's door
Takes all you've got and even more
Then when you know you've passed the tests
You know you've made it through the stress
Of having to prove you still are strong
With God's help you could have done it all along
Those dreary months of turture fades in the past
A changed person stands victorous at last

Note:
After my stroke,I awoke from 8 weeks
of being in a coma. Paralized on my
right side, I entered 1 year of intensive
physical therapy, which called on every ounch
of energy and faith I had. Pain was my world
as my muscles became alive again.
Slowly I learnt how to swallow,speak,
walk, write and regained my memory again.
I entered the world a changed woman.
Alleluia! Praises to God!I can walk again!
