I had major words with my mate above,
And told Him that I'm fed up!
With all the cr*p that's in my life!
My bad health is an over flowing cup!
So I thought I'd give Him an earache!
And drive this icon insane!
Have Him up the flippin' wall…
As I do, over and over again!
But I figure He knows me well;
After all, didn't He make us all?
So I decided no matter what or when,
I can always give Him a call!
So I looked to the Heavens this day,
And roared out; ‘Are you there Lord?
You see, I need a little chat again,
Cos me health's all battered and floored!
So can you give me a few minutes?
Because I really need advice!
And up to now, I have to say,
I've ever asked you twice!
Now I know that you are busy,
Doing this, that, the other and more,
But I thought you might spare me a few,
So I'm knocking on your door!'
Now I lay in bed most patiently,
And gave a little sigh…
Because I don't think that He heard me,
And I began to cry.
Softly into my pillow of tears,
Asking for help to me, from He,
Because I'm having a little set back,
And I'm feeling a bit scared you see.
And after a while of waiting,
I started to fall asleep,
And suddenly I heard a whisper,
And then my God began to speak!
‘Catherine what's the mater?' He said.
‘Why are you crying in your bed?
Did you think I didn't hear you?
And didn't hear what you said?'
‘Well God, I'm ashamed to say it,
But I thought you had abandoned me,
Because lately I've had another scare,
And I needed a word you see.
This problem that I carry around, well,
I find it as scary as can be,
So I decided that I'd give you a shout,
Cos I'm really struggling you see!'
Now God went quiet for a while,
And I thought I'd upset him you see,
Cos after all, when said and done,
He gets a little harassed from me!
Then He gave a little sigh and said;
‘Catherine kid, listen to me!
There is nothing you can say…
That will cause any upset to me!
So give me a shout when you need to,
And I shall always be here…
Even if you are not sure,
I just thought I'd make that clear!'
So I thanked my God once again,
And told Him of my plight!
All about the fear in me!
That spoils my sleep at night!
‘Listen here, you!' He said.
And I thought that He was mad!
Then reassuring me he said;
‘Catherine, stop crying every night!
Because you are never alone,
And I hear all you say to me,
So leave it all in my hands,
And give you're troubles to me!
I will take them from you,
And I will give you peace at night,
So don't you worry kid!
I'll make sure that you're alright!'
I love my little chats with God;
He makes me feel so good…
And I thank Him all the time you know,
Of course, just as I should!
So I smiled a smile and settled down,
Knowing He'd said that…
And whispered to the Heavens;
‘Lord, thank you very much for that!'
