Going It Alone
We keep living as we strive,
With hope to keep us alive;
Through toil and tribulation,
As well as joy and jubilation.
No matter how easy it may be,
There is an easier life to see;
That would give a better life,
Without enduring the strife.
No matter how hard we tried,
Greener grass on the other side;
We try to build our confidence,
In order to jump over the fence.
But we never seem to succeed,
For something that will impede;
Our quest on the ladder we climb,
That makes us fall short of time.
It is mainly for we attempt it alone,
That causes us to cancel or postpone;
All because we never bother to ask,
Lord God to help us through our task.
