Realizations

I'm not about to bring up something new
We all know that things appear
So great outside of what you got
But in all reality the best thing
Is right there by your side

She made her home
But I told her that
She really wasn't that grown
She needed to experience
What life had to offer
To see if this love was real
I had too much drama
Stuff I didn't think
That she could deal with
I looked for the first good excuse
To let her go
But deep down
Yup yup
I still love my chick

I had some issues
That I had to close on my own
Got confused and offered
The wrong person a home
What I mean is my heart
Thought she had the experience
She proved to me
That age ain't nothing but a number
She didn't tear my heart apart
Just made me realize what I knew from the start

Had to close this chapter in my life
Otherwise I couldn't move on
And find my future wife
Free from all this burden and strife
The weight of the world
I no longer carry
The drama in my life
Is at a standstill
Getting to the light
At the end of the tunnel
I can say I finally will
