The Mistress of Word Play

I walked the shore in search not knowing or caring why,
seeing the sun running its colors through the water.
I had come to spread my thoughts into the sky,
but instead I was filled with the wonder of the sunset.

I walked the shore never knowing I was blessed,
by a vision few took the time to witness.
Few felt it necessary to clear the clutter I guessed,
or perhaps they just never could find the time.

I walked the shore land's end was the journey's name,
why I called it this, someone else can decide.
I know somehow, when I leave here nothing will be the same,
because I saw God's hand finger painting in the water.
