Faculty Of The Mind: By Michael Ssemakula

As years roll by; friends grow and change
Some help to shape our precious memories
And yet the rest fade away with seasons

Others as if destined to share in our journey,
Become a constant silver lining in the blue clouds
Blowing out all chaff and handing over the wheat
They listen, not judge, but dole out fine advice

They are meant to hold dear and trust no matter what
They contain a special bond, joking and laughing
Sharing secrets; those bonds cannot be totally broken

Friends especially own a magic ticket to bail out
Standing in the gap and yield to reason altogether
Freely treating one another with reflexive respect
Granting good light, that can ably be reliant on

They are heartfelt beings, regardless of how much
Distance, trims and time that may pass in between
Tolerant with compassion, while enduring life's changes

Friends are available, coming along and lending a hand
Allowing us to recognize love up to genuine visions
As we strive to reach for our cherished rainbows...
