I'm sitting here quietly thinking things through,
My pain is deep, don't know what to do!
My head is reeling, thoughts messed up!
In this, my never ending; pain filled cup!
Things are hard in this life that we live,
Love we have, and love we give.
But sometimes that love is sadly not true,
Things fall apart; you don't know what to do!
Something you had was special, good and true,
Then you find out its shallow, what do you do?
Do you hide your hurt and smile away?
Or accept the changes and call it a day?
For sometimes the changes are not so nice,
And feelings are battered, gone in a thrice!
You look for the things that you once had,
Finding it gone, it's all turned out bad!
Your heart is a crater that's gaping wide…
You have to face the truth, can't run or hide!
You had something good, special and true,
But now it's all gone, why? You haven't a clue!
Were you so unimportant within their life?
That it causes you pain that cuts like a knife!
The feelings are gone, battered and barred,
Now that part of your life is broken and tarred.
So you pick yourself up off that floor that day!
Raise your chin high as you walk away!
No looking back to see the hurt left there,
They didn't know you were gone, they didn't care!
Did they notice your depart, did they look your way?
As you left their home and heart this day!
The answer is no, they didn't care, they didn't know,
So now in your heart, its time to let it go!
So you talk to your head, talk to your heart,
And on both counts they agree its time to depart!
So you walk out of that door, holding your head high!
Not looking back, but then you start to cry.
But the tears of sadness that fall from your eyes…
Are bittersweet…for they show those lies…
For lies they were, of love and caring for you,
For you walked away in pain, what do you do?
Nothing, you do nothing, for at the end of the day;
They lost you and your love, when you walked away!
So with heavy heart and sadness and pain;
You leave their life, never to be in it again!
No looking over your shoulder to see what's behind,
For all that's there is a sadness you'll find!
So talk to your head, fight with your heart,
And realize at last, it was time for you to part.
