 Treasures From the Heart

Heavenly Meeting

It was a day like any other.
I'd taken some time to stop
And visit with my brother.
It wasn't long before we knew
This day was like  NO other!
One minute we were talking,
Like brothers and sisters do,
The next  minute we were walking
On streets with a golden hue!
We stopped and looked around amazed
At the sights our eyes beheld -
The beauty of Heaven's glory
And visions as yet untold!
The glory of Jesus was all around
As we knelt on bended knee,
Our worship and praise to bring
To the Christ of Calvary!
We raised our voices in joyful song
To the King of Kings and Lord of Lords,
along with the Heavenly throng!
It wasn't long before we saw
Those who had come on before:
Grandparents, some we never knew,
Aunts, uncles and cousins,
Those who'd  been faithful and true.
And then we gazed upon a sight
We'd wanted for so long,
The loving face of the father,
Who taught us right from wrong.
He taught us of the Father's love
And the price of Calvary,
He told us of a Heavenly Home
If we'd  follow the Godly way.
We talked with friends and loved ones,
Each one a delight to see,
And we stood amazed in the Light of
The One who died for even me!

A little child came running up
and sat down next to me.
I recognized her dear, sweet face
As that of Jennifer Marie.

She said, "I'm glad to meet you,
And I have some things to say,
Some things I have to tell you
On this glorious day."

"Thank you for praying for Mom and Dad,
I know you done it everyday.
Having them here makes me so glad!
It's because you took the time to pray.

I know you loved my Uncle Tim
And prayed for him each day.
But he wouldn't let the Saviour in,
So now the price he has to pay.

You always were so faithful
With your prayers throughout each day
All of us here were hopeful
That he soon would see the Way.

But Satan told so many  lies,
His eyes were blinded to the truth.
Satan used a clever disguise
So he didn't see your words were true.

He knew how much you loved him,
He knew your heart was true.
Though his heart was filled with sin,
He really loved you too.

He was afraid to trust you,
All because of Satan's lies.
He thought you'd hurt him too
Because of the blinding of his eyes.

He saw the Saviour's love
Shining out from you.
He knew it came from Heaven above
And he wanted that love too.

But Satan, he had other schemes
And he didn't want to lose.
He used so many other means
So Uncle Tim couldn't chose.

Satan promised sensual delights
And lusts to be fulfilled.
He blinded him to the Saviour's Light,
And didn't tell how he'd be billed.

He didn't see what it would cost
For a few minutes of pleasure.
He didn't see his soul would be lost,
And he'd have no Heavenly treasure.

He had so many chances,
He'd been told the way, it's true.
But he made sinful choices
And our Jesus, he never knew.

Though we will always love him,
Our prayers are now in vain.
He wouldn't turn from a life of sin,
So now he'll have eternal pain.

Though our hearts are heavy
There is no crying here.
The charge will be levied
But we can't shed a tear.

He'll call out to the Saviour,
He'll even call your name.
But God will show no favor,
He's only himself to blame.

Don't blame yourself for his demise,
Your prayers were faithful and true.
If he hadn't listened to Satan's lies,
He'd be here in Heaven with you.

Thank you so for being his friend,
And  your love so strong and true,
Thank you for your prayers to the end.
Uncle Tim should have listened to you."
