Hopes and Dreams
They live on,
my hopes and dreams,
imagined
but never seen.
The cabin on
the river's edge,
watching the sunset
from a hidden ledge.
Fishing from the
grassy shore.
Who could ask
for anything more?
Dreams of a life
with that special man,
walking with him
hand in hand.
Beautiful, sparkling
eyes of brown,
a face that never
wears a frown.
That special look
meant only for me,
knowing that I'm
the only one he sees.
Gentle kisses,
and words of love.
A love we know
from heaven above.
These are my dreams...
will they ever be?
Not riches or fame,
only love I seek.
All the rest
is nothing more
than grains of sand
on a distant shore.
Life is meant
to share with one,
walking together
in the sun.
Laughing and playing,
together we share
a life of purpose,
meaning and care.
Good times and bad,
sorrow and pain,
joy and comfort,
sunshine and rain.
Together is
the only key,
together, dreams
are meant to be.
Is my dream
so far away?
Please tell me
it will be, someday.
