 Pages Of A Woman's Soul

Wanderlust tugs at my thoughts
in the midst of a working day
pulling my focus away
onto distant shores,
immersing in
exotic memories
of Calypso nights…

Warmth engulfs my now
silent fingertips poised
above the cold keys
as I feel the hot sand
trickling across my open palms,
my  mind focused
on the turquoise horizon.

The faintest rhythms of
the steel drums play in my head,
eyes closing in sunlit reverie.
And I breathe deep,
ocean salt filling
my yearning lungs.
I am there,
imagination sailing me away.

And slowly I dissolve
into the fathomless blue
void of the tropical sea,
no one suspecting I am gone
but me
and there my gypsy soul
wanders free…
