Poetry For Everyday People

Alive

I just want to kiss
her and take her in,
save her, save my brain
of watching humanity fall,
save my friend,

the pressure of somehow
knowing what life's about,
or the constant scam of acting
as if we know something?

the logic of it, the ability to
go on with life, the programing of
ones self?

I've never been able to do that.

I can.  But I won't.

I can't tell you what to do,
but don't sell yourself out please,
don't give in to those who will never
be smarter than you for you.

Gentle angel, give us friends,
allow us happy happy hours,
forgot not we are human,
forgot not we feel more than
needed.
