 The Mistress of Word Play

Paradise Lost

In the beginning God created Adam, then along came Eve and trouble started.

"We were there in Paradise,"
Adam said to Eve,
"can you remember why it was,
we had to leave?"
Eve was not willing to own up,
to the thing she had done.
"I think," Eve said to Adam,
"we we're having too much fun."
Adam shook his head at this,
and then he did reply,
"I think perhaps we offended God,
our Creator in the sky."
At this Eve did bow her head,
she felt the growing rush.
She feared Adam would see,
the beginnings of her blush.
"Eve," Adam said to her,
"I think we were to blame,
for not listening to our Lord,
and now we live in shame."
