I am a machine that is fat and round and I stand at least three feet from the ground.
I am very proud of my digital dial because with a touch of a finger it sorts out the whole pile, of dirty washing that has been hanging around for quite a while.
When my family were invented the housewife went wild because everything they washed came out soft and mild.It was then we became headline news, by cutting that burden of washday blues.
Our ancestors before us were all just great, but if we used them today this generation would be in one hell of a state.
First came Great Grandfather tub with sunlight soap and scrub, scrub, scrub.
Then Grandfather washboard with a scrub and a rub.
As for the old copper boiler who who also needs a mention,
oh how my Grandmother was put under so much tension, she was a great part of our family tree because her old tub was never free.
Napkins and sheets boiling day after day and as time went on she too just packed up and faded away.
They all had their partners that lived in the yard, a big iron mangle that made work twice as hard.
Then along came my parents every housewife's dream, a beautiful thing called the Washing Machine.
First in line was the washer with a mangle but that was phased out because the washing got in a tangle.
So in came the Twin Tub which became a household winner with it's washing machine and it's quick dry spinner.
We have improved a lot over a long length of time, and some of us dry everything so there is no need for a line.
I do not hold a crystal ball so I cannot tell you what is on the prouduction line, but I may have some news when I am about to decline.
I am guaranteed for a good few years. and my easy way of washing should bring pleasure, not tears.
