The Seeker and the Wish
I seek the twinkle in your eyes
And the sunlight of your smile.
I seek the man who is so wise -
The one who goes the extra mile.
I seek the laughter in your voice,
And the gentleness of your touch.
I seek your kisses, sweet and moist,
The touch of the hand that means so much.
I seek the warmth of your embrace,
And the kind words of my friend.
I seek to touch the strong, sweet face
Of the one who's loyal to the end.
I seek the gentleness of your spirit,
To build you up and honor you.
I seek the man of honor and merit,
The friend who's always true.
I wish to be your sunshine
When your skies are dark and gray.
I wish to be your comfort
At the end of a long, hard day.
I wish to be your pillow
When you're tired and need to rest.
I wish to be assuring
When you face a hard life test.
I wish to listen and understand
When no one else can comprehend.
I wish to walk beside you
When you need a dear, true friend.
I wish to be your something real
In a world of false pretend.
I wish to be your joyful song
When you feel you've reached the end.
I am the seeker
Who wishes for you.
I am the heart
That will always be true.
