The Reality Poet

Sadness

My tears standby waiting
they are ready to fall
just like the leaves of the tree
that used to stand in our yard
I can feel the sadness
as it vexes my soul
My heart feels heavy now
My composure fights for control
The warmth of the tears
offer the sweetest release
my sadness appears as
salty sreaks down my face
You'd want me to be happy
saying, "don't cry for me"
But the sadness of you leaving me
just won't let me be
I know that your gone
and your not coming back
I do know now, the realness of that
so today I'll be sad
as I think only of you
then soon the sun will shine in
and shatter my blues
