 turning point

(probably wont make sense to someone
who didn't write it, but it marks a point in my life
where i refuse to be tied down ever again
by a creature as cruel as man)

she closes her eyes
lets her soul rule mind
her wings unfold
to leave reality behind
She spreads them above her
ready for flight
but then hears his voice
and knows its not right
Its not time she says
she must stay for him
but the urge to fly is great
and it will probably win
She bites down on her lip
blood trickles down slowly
her eyes begin to flicker
and she opens them fully
Its to late
all traces of human lost
she is all beast
and her spirit is he boss
Her feathers ruffle
she sees his eyes
they seem so strange
she doesn't understand their cries
With one last look
she shrugs him off
he is lost to her
as she finally takes off
No longer human
only the beast of the sky
no man will tame her
she will rule her own life
