The Family Turkey

The family turkey
Is on the run this year,
While everyone sits at the table
The turkey sucks back the beer.

He staggers through the forest
Bumps into many trees,
He swears at the squirrels
Wades through water, up to his knees.

Dad chases after him
Wearing a chef's hat on his head,
He has problems every year
He wished he'd stayed in bed.

The turkey then stumbles
Has a terrible fall,
Dad decided to give him a break
When he saw the turkey bawl.

The family turkey is lucky this year
His life was saved from the dinner plate,
He would have been good eating though
But, we're full, from the food we just ate.
