Jusr Murmuring

I don't write pretty poetry
At least not all the time
I do try a modicum of rhythm
And I do strictly try to rhyme

I don't write pretty poetry
Or at least only by chance
And I suppose in all reality
I don't plan it in advance

I don't write pretty poetry
Not the sort of stuff to sing
I try to keep it succinct
For the message is the thing

I don't write pretty poetry
At least I don't I think
And to be honest at times
I use acid instead of ink

I don't write pretty poetry
But I do write from the heart
And I do try to be honest
A good way I think to start

I don't write pretty poetry
But I do try always to speak
For us masses of humanity
And find answers we all seek

I don't write pretty poetry
At times I'm vulgar and crude
At others hopefully amusing
And I admit often I'm rude

I don't write pretty poetry
But I never sit on the fence
And I hope to any readers
I don't cause too much offence

I don't write pretty poetry
There are so many just like me
The conscience of our nations
Who write to keep thought free
