A Weeping Widow
A weeping widow stands
Over the fallen grave,
Weathered by time, it was
Flowers to her loved one, she gave.
This grave holds the name
Of a hero in her eyes,
A husband beaten by two wars
She stands alone and cries.
The rain comes down around her
And lands on the ground,
She is thankful for their life together
'Twas a wonderful love, she had found.
She visits the grave, at least
A few times every year,
Brings flowers to place on the stone
Stands, silently, shedding her tears.
