God's Most Beautiful Angel-A Mother's Grief

Catching Up

Catching Up

It’s catching up with me.
Time…it’s just a game.
I think of how things used to be.
Knowing life will never be the same.

Breathing in…breathing out…living day by day.
Each second…each minute diminishes my strength.
It is getting much more difficult to stay.
Existence…such as it is…is far too hard and my mind it starts to think.

“Why can’t I give up…cry uncle…shout I can’t take this anymore?
Would everyone just fall apart because they lost a weakened pier?
What is the worst that would happen if I went through that beckoning door?
Don’t they know I’d be far happier anywhere but here?”

“Am I their only strength…their rock…the foundation of their life?
If that’s the case…God help them…cause they are all in trouble.
What makes them think I am more than human when dealing with grief and strife?
Why must I stay when my heart tells me to get out of here on the double?”

Dare I take the path and heed the message coming from within?
I do not know the answer. Is it inside the hearts of those I love?
I know someone better help me my resolve is wearing thin.
Something is catching up with me and it isn’t from above.
