God's Most Beautiful Angel-A Mother's Grief

Peace

Peace

Again you stayed awake all night.
The peace that comes with sleep you fight.
Nothing that I do or say can ease the pain you feel.
It’s harsh…but she’s not coming back…this is very real.

Her habit was to come in late…in the wee hours of dawn.
Your being up will not bring her back from the place which she has gone.
Your feelings make your mind race…your soul it needs some rest.
If you continue on this path you will lose your health…at best.

I know how very hard it is to put your heart at ease.
I do not want to lose you too…so listen to me please.
You can not take the pain away with a manufactured cure.
It’s time which is the healer and of that you can be sure.

Our life will never be as it was…death has seen to that.
But with love and memories we can start to get things back.
Don’t be ashamed to show me your emotions and your tears.
It won’t be days…or even months…the process will take years.

So get some sleep my darling…and know…I love you so.
Rest your head upon my pillow I promise I won’t go.
Peace is somewhere within us…yes…within you and me.
We’ll take this trip together wherever it may lead.
