God's Most Beautiful Angel-A Mother's Grief

Wish

Wish

Oh how we wish you were here!
We need to hold you…touch you…see you.
We sit here in this room fighting back the tears.
We still can’t believe it. What will we do?

Your room is empty…cold…stark.
The bed always made with your pillows just right.
The light seldom on…the feeling so dark.
We don’t want to turn on the light.

Illumination they say will set the truth free.
Is that why we turn off the facts?
It’s the gloom that helps us…prevents us to see.
Allowing us to hope and to pray you’ll be back.

Please don’t condemn us our minds are not gone.
But what if this is a bad dream?
What if we wake and you have returned home?
You’re not really dead our hearts scream.

You have gone far away…we know you’re not going to show.
But our hearts…unlike paper…don’t bond together with glue.
Reality…God this is hard. Why did it strike such a blow?
You know that saying “A dream is a wish” well we know...even bad ones come true.
