When we are born into this huge world,
And live the life, in which we live,
What happens; moulds and shapes us;
And you were born with love to give!
Now you were given more than your fair share,
This we know is very true;
But all that you are, and all that you'll be,
Is simply down to you!
You were given such a heart so true,
As vast as the bluest sea,
And you always share that goodness around;
You're very special you see!
You are not one to live with anger,
Hate or negativity is not within you!
And because of the way you are Alex,
You are as beautiful as you are true.
You have strived to go forward in life,
No matter the trials you bear;
And you have excelled in all you do;
Because you have a heart and care!
You have faced adversity in life,
Which you shouldn't; this is very true!
But look how strong you are inside;
Look what that life's moulded you into!
Everything happens for a reason,
And the reasons are not always shown…
But one important thing I can tell you now is;
That you will never be alone!
You'll never be alone in the life you live,
And in all the paths you tread,
For you keep your head high, always focus
And never live that life in dread!
And when you think on yesteryear,
Don't feel sad! More; do it in smile!
Because the past gave you such strength;
To walk tall with every mile!
You are an amazing person Alex;
Don't ever doubt that at all!
You have a great quality about you;
And that makes you 10 foot tall!
You excel in all you undertake,
And you do it all in true style!
And this is why you will always prevail,
And walk with ease every mile!
So yes we learn and we grow,
And thrive and excel every day!
And that makes us to be able to deal with;
Any trial that comes our way!
And as you tread this path of life,
Take stock of all I say to you!
Never change, never alter…
And live your life as you choose to do!
You have grown into a beautiful woman;
Of whom I am so very proud;
And when you need to cry, remember this,
It is very much allowed!
And for every little teardrop;
That falls gently down our face;
It helps the healing process…
And our sadness it will chase!
And if you need a shoulder;
If you feel the need to shed a tear;
I want you to know one important thing;
I am always, always here!
So from this adopted mum to my adopted daughter,

As I raise my eyes to stars above!
