Glad I'm not a Dog

From ‘five ways' to Thetford the A11 is jammed,
At least an hour to drive.
The south side is flowing rushing away…
As dusk begins to arrive.
A white mist is forming stuck to the ground,
I turn my head lights on.
Then out of the mist a car races past…
In a second he is gone.
A big truck behind me is getting too close,
His nose is in my front seat.
I put out my arm and tell f**k off…
He smiles and gives me a beep.
I put on the radio and slip in a tape,
The Beatles and all their love songs.
I think of the time that I'm sitting here…
And how I'd sooner be gone.
The cars from Thetford flashing their lights,
Another problem ahead.
Later on I found out someone had died…
Overtaking, impatient I guess?
Eventually I got home two hours to late,
My dog missed his long walk.
So he had sh*t on the floor and peed on my bed,
His way of saying… "lets talk".
I understood his problem and tried to explain,
But hell he's only a dog.
So I cleaned up the mess and gave him his walk,
Where he s*it out another great log.
I smiled to myself and thanked the sweet lord…
As we walked on our way home.
That I was the human and I could decide…
Who gets to chew on the bone?
