Too many years since last I wrote,
You probably think I no longer believe,
This year there is so much I have to note,
There are things Santa, I just must receive.
I'm not asking much for myself, Mr. Claus,
I know you have tons of gifts to deliver,
But a few things I could surely use,
I don't think they will make your wallet quiver.
I'd like a shoulder to cry on when things get rough,
And a hand to hold as I grow older,
A massage across shoulders burdened with care,
And laughter when the weather gets colder.
These things you can't wrap in a package, sir,
Or place in a stocking by the fire,
There just some idle thoughts from my soul's dwelling place
Reflecting my heart's great desire.....
