Poetry For Everyday People

Don't Want To Date You But I Love You

Don't take my compliments
as if I was the guy
at the end of the bar,
I write to artists, musicians
to poets, to painters,
to people who inspire me, not
often but every now and then
I am moved and the least I
can do is let the beautiful
source know,

my compliments are artist
to artist, writer to writer,
not man to woman or man
to man, if I tell
you your words teased me,
I am not asking for a date,
I am a happy loyal in love fool,

true artists pour their souls
and we read each others messages,
we follow each others maps, we
learn something about each other
that most people not even friends
or family know about us, we learn
from each other, and most defiantly
we are turned on by each others work,
and that's cool baby,

you can turn my mind on or my
sex on or my inspiration on, don't
get lost in boy girl drama, this
is art, this is self expression,
this is our time machine, don't
put life's limits on it, please
not here,

friends sitting naked together
reading, writing, playing music,
painting, creating, it's a beautiful
rhythm, let your hair down and your
art out.
