Christmas WrappingIt's Christmas Eve. My exuberance knows no bounds. My sparkly red wrapping and large velvet ribbon grace the most desired gift under the majestic tree. I can feel your excitement when you hold me, bring me to your ear and gently shake me, wonder what's inside me. All the other Christmas presents wish they were me. I am the object of your complete attention. I know what lies ahead. In a few short hours, I will be a crumpled piece of trash, but, I don't care. Knowing how my beauty entices you, stirs you, makes it easy to accept my fate. My mission is delightfully complete. I will sleep well tonight. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
