Into the Future
Into the Future
My mind tries to go
Look to the future
What can I hope to see?
The past is so raw
Cold and unkind
Is there a promise for me?
Memories cloud my head
And dismay me
I can't do this anymore
Is there a chance
Some fluke or another
For a life I will adore.
Maybe there isn't
Perhaps this is futile
Why should it all start to change
I'm nothing special
Never been anything
Why should my life re arrange?
Just for one moment
A small step in time
Maybe it's my turn to be
So I'll go forward
Into the future and
Hope that this time it's for me.
