Temptations of Life
As I ponder on what to write,
I gaze outside at the light;
Thinking how life has been,
In a world surrounded by sin.
It seems everywhere you look,
From the Internet to any book;
Temptations all around galore,
Enticing you through a door.
Temptation has many forms,
Knowing what desire warms;
It knows where we are weak,
And just which path to seek.
Oh how vulnerable we can be,
Influenced by what we can see;
Once Satan has you in his snare,
You are trapped within his lair.
But a weapon within our reach,
And be rescued if you beseech;
God will give strength if you pray,
At any time through night or day.
