Two Rooms

Two Rooms

The steps are waiting
the door is swinging open
adjust my tired eyes
everything is out of focus
could it be through all this spinning
being so busy
I forgot the true meaning
so many years seem to past
before we know it
then once again it's December

I hold this card
and it reminds me of you in your prime
how you did brightly shine
when you had the best
of father time

The room is talking
through the walls
I hear you
the steady calm is washing
completely over me
in this heartbreaking season
I find peace
such a relief
though eyes that have seen
their fair share of grief
God has his eyes on all his people
and I believe..... yes one day
we will be delivered
the receiving line is so long
you have to wait to enter

so just wait in this room
so many smiles....yet so much sadness
sometimes it blurs
but when love and forgiveness occurs
it's every bit worth the pain
for those few moments
our attitudes smile as we change

and the words you left before
is sweeter even more
cherished as a token
a small piece you left
that you will hold the next door
and welcome me with open arms
this life will be so much clearer
because then I will be home....
