 Trying To Cope

You left this world and me behind
I'm trying hard just to cope
But there's times I feel so lost
I'm at the end of my rope

I went out the other night
thought to dance the hurt away
lost in some strangers arms
But I found to my dismay

That the height was all wrong
and the touch didn't feel right
the smell didn't come close
but I tried to be polite

The weight was all wrong
and the smile just wasn't you
I turned and looked again
the eyes weren't even blue

So I ran for my life
like a scared little girl
but I can't go on like this
my mind in such a whirl

Its not fair to keep comparing
you to others that I meet
but how could another
make me feel so complete

I don't want to forget you
but I've got to move on
shut the door to the past
now that your gone

It will take me some time
and getting used to it seems
but I know that I'll always
hold you in my dreams
