We were there lost among the stars,
planning a future, healing old scars,
but still we did not know
where our love might go
we were lost in the afterglow.
We were lost in love you and me
Sometimes the stars can make you blind
At times it's hard for lovers to see
The dedication, the ties which bind.
We were there in that safe place
seems we had found a perfect space.
but we too soon forgot
those battles we fought
we found the love we sought.
We thought that we had it all
But never could quite get past
Ancient bricks within that wall
And everything that makes love last.
We were there as time took flight
recalling love's first tender sight
but through it all
defenses did fall
when we heard love's sultry call
