 Field Of Stones

His hand filled with flowers
His heart filled with pain
His mind recalls the memories
That drives him insane

He now walks through a field
That's covered in stones
And with each step he takes
He hears his own moans

Is it guilt for the past?
That he cannot undo
Has the truth finally hit him?
He's really lost you

For you lay in this field
That's covered in stone
A love he neglected
Now he's all alone

For the very first time
He brought flowers to you
To lay on the ground
Tears falling like dew

He took you for granted
Each time he walked away
He knew you were sick
But he just couldn't stay

Now he's here for forgiveness
In this field full of stone
And He's down on his knees
Trying hard to atone

He gets up to leave
This place that he's come
His heart is so weary
His body half numb

He says please forgive me
Walks away with a groan
Leaves behind his only love
In this cold field of stone
