Tenses Of A Lifetime
Of past, of present, of future
Nothing...
Our love is a wasteland
Of promises in vain
I wait only for
The future's promise
That I will always
Show more love than hate,
And receive the same.
Although the future is a womb
Like the past, appears prolific,
It may, exhaust, be the tomb
Of what the present calls terrific.
There I stood facing change
Courageous and defiant,
In a winners pose
Unrelenting to the past,
For so long that
The present got lost,
Along with the future
If we only sit and won't try
Of past, of present, of future
Something...
Enough to rebuild
Another you and me
