I left my soul in Oklahoma
I left my soul in Oklahoma
She didn't take it. I gave it to her
A year of wanting, dreams of love and lust
Of hope and friendship and binding trust
Like a passing cowboy from another state
I crossed this land with unknown fate
I stayed a while but like all drifters do
I left one day over the seas of blue
Returned to my home, friends and family
But I never forgot what I had over sea
And like all things without a soul, I slowly died
AS I looked on helplessly as my hands were tied
To have been in love and felts its glory
I soon felt loss with all its fury
My body in England, a beating heart in a shell
But my love lays in Oklahoma, and I wish her well
