Poetry For Everyday People
Ottoman Words
She said
baby your secret
is safe here with me,
how could I ever
betray he who lays
the moon at my feet,
let me
just wrap myself
in your poetry's quilts,
where you've weaved
pain into forgiveness,
how is it?
I feel as if
I am being poured hot
tea for, I didn't know words
had taste? I didn't know
how deep they reached,
she said
baby your secret
is safe here with me,
just keep them coming,
keep sending these hugs,
these soft kisses,
this magic between
far away strangers.
baby your secret
is safe here with me,
how could I ever
betray he who lays
the moon at my feet,
let me
just wrap myself
in your poetry's quilts,
where you've weaved
pain into forgiveness,
how is it?
I feel as if
I am being poured hot
tea for, I didn't know words
had taste? I didn't know
how deep they reached,
she said
baby your secret
is safe here with me,
just keep them coming,
keep sending these hugs,
these soft kisses,
this magic between
far away strangers.
