Personal Demons
Demons knock upon my door
Rattles upon my windowpane
Eventual slumber is no succour
The mischievous sprite
Doth still remain
Fitful breathing in the night
Tossing, turning, trying to lose
The fearful tightening in my chest
A demonic companion
I did not choose
Sleep disorder you demon blight
Body and mind completely worn
Shallow breathing throughout the night
Sapped of energy
Come the morn
