 Why Is It?

You may ask if someone believes in God
Many will say they do by giving you a nod
But why is it when you say Jesus' name,
They don't ever look at you the same?

Then when you mention the Bible,
They will say to you it is unreliable
You tell them God's Word is true,
But yet they will not listen to you

It all comes down to their pride
Making them run away and hide
They can make it on their own
Or they are afraid of the unknown

Satan blinds them from knowing the truth
They know what is taught from their youth
God's free gift, they do not want to receive
Set in their ways, they refuse to believe

Only the Spirit can reveal God to man
We can pray they will believe in His plan
Only God knows what is in their heart
It is not for us to judge from the start

My friend, you may have doubts
Not knowing what it is all about
But if you don't know Him today,
Just trust Him to show you the way

John 3:16 (NIV)
For God so loved the world that he gave his one
and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall
not perish but have eternal life.
