Release me from the burdens that age has laid on me
The aches and pains, the worries, yet this is meant to be
For the green years all the good times taken for granted
The unspoken gratitude for what was, so soon recanted
As I get older I tend to complain of the infirmities of advancing age. I must remind myself of the glories of my youth that some never had and that I never fully appreciated. I can no longer dance and roller skate but I must remind myself of all those who have never been able to do either. Thank you dear Lord for what I was given even though you are slowly taking it away again.
