Lavender Iris

Translucent,
pale, lavender iris,
like fine stained glass,
lush and radiant,
blooming by the roadside!
Like an old first love
recalled from the distant past.
In old age much is taken
but some things remain,
a symbol of eternal truth
and the beauty of God's creation!
