ALMOST 51

Almost fifty-one
My back hurts and I'm no fun
Think a husband's going to save me
Who could perhaps enslave me

One plus a half decade
Words still laid
Down on this white
With blue at night

Born in 1956
Still getting kicks
From popular top 40
Oh, lordy, lordy

When you going to grow up girl?
You're moving into the middle ages
Then I'll become a Princess in my world
To bow in beauty on many stages

At almost 51, you realize Shakespeare was right
It is a time "to be or not to be"
You write about your past late in the dark night
"All the world is a stage", at almost 51, all the actor's me.
