I am a little old school in my ways
Have values long ago taught to me~
But That don't make me such a good person
I'm just doing what I'm supposed to don't you see~
Should be no rewards for doing the right thing
Only correction for those that don't~
Common sense I assume still prevails
More could , A lot more simply won't~
The thing I can't get past though
Are so many men once comes across today~
That still refer to women by the lowest names
Maybe because they can't get their way~
What ever happened to respect and decency
And the not being to quick to judge~
The very thought it might have been a guy
That gave some women's life the nudge~
I know I am a man myself
But regardless of who I meet~
I am not one to use those names at all
To any soul up or down the street~
Jesus said he who throws the stones
You've heard it all before~
And I just look around disgusted
When a woman's called a name and more~
As far as I am concerned
She's somebodies sister or a mum
And ninety nine percent of the time
A guy helped he do what she has done~
It's really not a needed thing
Not in this day and age~
I thought that we were going ahead in time
But in some areas we need to turn the page~
We strive to eradicate racism
And other things that are so absurd~
But I still hear in some places
Women called the lowest names I've ever heard~
I turn around and say my piece if I can
Without worry on the day~
But that will never and not educate
These types ever come what may~
It might just seem a small thing to some
But to me it's not at all~
We need to in some areas of life
to teach that respect it needs a call~
Old values need to be brought back again
A few manners would not go astray~
And simply having more respect for women
And for all people day by day~
We all come from the same place
And yes we all shall return one day~
We all take with just what we brought in
There is no other way~
But being a little politer
Does not take a lot it's true~
Respect for one another
It's in some areas of life just so over due~
