Dance.....

I still remember the sweet music
A soft lulling tribute to new romance
Your hand rested softly upon my waist
Your fingers like fire, burning a memory

It was to be a dance of a lifetime,
Where eyes, hearts and souls connected
Each breath taking in each others essence
Why did time have to be so fleeting?

I can still recall that look you gave
Filled with hope, yet deeper still, regret
All our dreams came to rest before us
Only to slowly fade as midnight called

It was to be a dance of a lifetime
One that began at hello...
Ended with goodbye
Yet within our hidden hearts...
A melody still plays...
